Join Award-Winning Quilter Leslie Main for a fun, hands-on day designed to build your confidence and take the mystery out of both free motion quilting and longarm ruler work.

Morning Session – Build Your Foundation

Start with the basics as Leslie guides you through the essential skills every longarm quilter needs. You'll learn machine control, movement, and free motion techniques that will give you the confidence to finish your own quilts with beautiful quilting. Then, you'll be introduced to longarm rulers and discover how easy they are to use for creating crisp lines, smooth curves, circles, and other precise designs that add a professional touch to your quilts.

Afternoon Session – Let Your Creativity Flow

After lunch, you'll combine free motion quilting with ruler-guided techniques to create stunning designs with confidence. Learn how simple shapes become graceful continuous-line motifs, travel smoothly across your quilt, stitch beautiful background fills, and add striking geometric and curved ruler designs for extra impact. You'll also discover how drawing exercises and muscle memory work together to improve both your free motion and ruler quilting skills.

By the end of the day, you'll have the knowledge and confidence to combine free motion quilting with ruler work to create beautiful, professional-looking quilts. Whether you're brand new to longarm quilting or looking to expand your quilting repertoire, this class will give you the solid foundation you need to turn your quilt tops into finished masterpieces!

Class Policies

FEES & CANCELLATION
Classes must be paid in full at time of registration. Supply lists will be issued upon payment of registration fees. Fees listed are for registration and do NOT include supplies unless noted in the class description. 15% discount on class supplies if the student presents the supply list when purchasing supplies.

If a book or pattern is required for the class, each student must have their own original pattern or book.  No sharing or photocopies of patterns are allowed due to copyright laws.

No refunds for student cancellations, but the class fee may be applied to another class with at least 48 hours cancellation notice. Registration fee is forfeited with less than 48 hours cancellation notice. No refunds for classes with outside teachers unless you find someone to take your place.

Why no refunds for classes with outside teachers? An outside teacher is a teacher that is not employed by Fabrics Unlimited. We contract with outside teachers for set fees, which include travel expenses and class handouts, etc, that they provide. Fabrics Unlimited does not receive a refund of any of those fees if students do not show up. 

GUESTS & CHILDREN
Children and guests are not allowed in classes. To allow children and guests would not be fair to the other students in the class.

SNACKS AND LUNCH
You are welcome to bring snacks.  Coffee and water will be available. All drinks must have lids in the classroom. There will be a refrigerator available if you need it.  For classes lasting 6 hours or more, you may bring a lunch.
